MyRealFood App
Today I will be explaining an app mentioned in my first post. I will guide you, with simple examples, through the app and I will explain every single aspect of it. I add as well a link in which you will find photos that will help you understand all the steps of this post: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QSREVrF8HAv4kFKyaL1e4oK4uTk2EzfC?usp=sharing
First of all, we have to enter Apple Store or Google Play and, in the upper-right corner, we click the magnifying glass. Then, we write MyRealFood and click done. From there, we will be directed to a page where it will offer you a good amount of apps to choose from. We have to click on download on the application that says MyRealFood app, not any other.
Secondly, we exit the Apple Store or Google Play. After that, we search on our main page on the mobile phone for the app. Once we have found it, we click on it and it will open. Now, in case you already have an account, you pick the option “log on”. If you do not have one, click “create account”. I recommend creating it with my Gmail. It is easier and you will remember the password as it is the same one for your email. Now that we have created the account, it will redirect us to the main page of the app, once again, and we will have to click “log in”. We will just have to insert our email and the password we have chosen. If you have chosen to create the account with your email, insert your Gmail and the password to it. Do not worry, your data are secure and no one will steal from you in the app.
After successfully logging in, we will be shown this image below. Do not feel overwhelmed by the number of options as they are really simple to understand and use. The first option we are shown in the lower-bar is “community”. Once we have clicked it, you will see something similar to the feed of Instagram. You can upload all the recipes and information you want. You only have to click the plus sign to your lower-right corner, just above the “plan” option. Up in the middle, we can see we have two different options: “groups”, the option we have just explained, and realfooders.
Now, we click on “realfooders” and we can observe a wide range of profiles. Just as you have created your profile, others have done the same and you can follow them. By clicking on one profile, you can see what that person has uploaded and, if it is to your liking, you can follow them by clicking “follow”. Moreover, in case you have a question to ask them, you can write a comment on their photos, in the option “write a comment” shown below the post, or you can write them a message by clicking “message” next to the option “follow”. The third option, the bell, is used to notify you when that person has uploaded a post. In addition to this, if your friends have also created an account, you can follow them. You only have to press the “magnifying glass on the upper-right corner, write their profile name, click “search”, and you will see his account. This last step is done the same way as we have looked for the app in the Apple Store.
Added to the option of uploading your own posts and recipes, in the lower-bar, the second option after “community” is “recipes”. There, featured recipes will appear and you will be recommended certain recipes according to your likes.
The third option after “recipes” is the scanner. It is known by everyone that the products we buy at the supermarket, expect fresh food, have a bar code. While we are picking up the food, we can click the “scanner”, put the mobile phone above the bar code, and scan it. After that, you will be able to see if the product is fresh, processed, or ultra-processed. It will be explained why they have labeled it like that, and the ingredients and preservatives they have used to cook that food.
The fourth option in the lower-bar is “following”. While you are thinking about what to cook for the week, you can add the dishes on the blank spaces, each of the spaces they have assigned. For instance, if you have had for breakfast two toasts and a coffee, in the part that says “breakfast” you add what you have consumed. Once you have completed all the spaces, it will tell you the percentage of healthy food, processed food, and ultra-processed-food you have eaten throughout the day. If you scroll down, you will observe you can also fill in basic measures, such as weight, breast, and so on. After a couple of weeks, if your goal is to slim down, you can click on “see development”, above the pepper, and realize if you have achieved your goal or not.
The final option we can use in the bar down below is “plan”. For this option, you will have to pay a monthly plan. Next, the managers of the app will allow you to see the weekly plan they have done for their dishes, some exclusive videos, and private posts they have uploaded to the RealFood blog. Finally, you will be able to chat with other people that have also subscribed to the plans they offer.
These are all the steps you need to know to correctly use the app. I hope it has been useful and that, now, you know how to dive through it.
