Moral values

 


  1. Try to define what you think about your topic in one sentence.

People’s moral values can be easily shaken when there is social pressure.


2. Write down all the reasons that come to your mind that justify or explain your idea. Once done, underline the best ones (two or three). Each of these reasons could potentially be the central idea of the supporting paragraphs of your essay.

  • Teenagers tend not to have their values fully established. Therefore, when there is peer pressure involved, they can change their values depending on what other young people do.
  • Today’s society is really messed up. We have normalized acts that should not be considered as something that could happen to us if we were unlucky. 
  • When people see others do wrong actions, they follow their lead. Instead of thinking about the consequences, they go with it without even considering that their friends might be wrong.
  • People that do not follow what everyone is doing is bound to be isolated. That is why, teenagers follow all the trends, to feel accepted by society. 


3. Using all that information you have written down, modify your initial sentence from step #1 to create a good thesis statement.

 People’s moral values can be easily shaken when they feel pressured by society.
